Yes, my family, friends and I have exchanged money for foreign currencies when we travel and we do it through places that sell dollars, euros or another foreign currency.

Cash is used when the bills to pay are not so expensive, also when going to a safe place.

We use cards when it is not a safe place where we do not risk carrying cash, and with these we can pay more expensive bills.
